An Apprentice of the Nature Mountain of Chimborazo

An Apprentice of the Nature Mountain of Chimborazo

I am William Ortiz, a 3d artist and I live in Ecuador. I studied for a Master's Degree in video game creation in Barcelona Spain. I am currently not working at a video game company, I hope that one day I will achieve it. At the moment I work as a freelancer graphic designer. Here is the making of Apprentice of the Nature Mountain of Chimborazo

Inspiration

When I start a job, I like to look for many references anatomy, color, objects, and history. For my character design, I tried to place the indigenous culture of my country Ecuador.

The devil Huma (mask) which has spiritual meaning and gratitude to the earth (Pachamama), the gold (props) did not have a high material value in the indigenous culture they use it rather as ornaments and in the end its symbols they represented love for the land and, respect for animals, and plants.

After looking for information for the design of my character, I decided he is a boy shaman an apprentice of the natural mountain of Chimborazo. I wanted my character to be fast and powerful, but at the same time to have a nice and light appeal, and he could also heal his allies
