Featured Interview: Maxim Verehin

We love seeing art by artists with a really strong and recognizable style and Maxim Verehin certainly fits that profile!

We recently did a short interview with him hoping to get to know him a little better - read it below and feast on his gorgeous art!

While you're at it, don't forget to check out his fantastic tutorials on his Cubebrush store here!

Q. What was your first break as an artist?

A. When I was a kid I loved to draw dinosaurs. During my younger life, I always used to come back to drawing from time to time, but it was not serious. I started the real artistic life (practice every day, study others) at the age of 18 I think after I saw some threads on art forum where young artists made big improvements in a short time. I was so inspired by that.

Q. How does your life compare now to what you had in mind as a kid?

A. Completely different, when I was a kid I imagined myself the bank director and sometimes an animal scientist who made new species (kinda doing the same now but on "paper").

Q. If you could work from anywhere in the world, where would it be?

A. I'm going to this goal right now, I want to live in my own house around nature somewhere in Canada.

Q. What were some early inspirations for your current style?

A. Marko Djurdjevic was my first love...and Puddnhead..classics already =)

Q. Chocolate or candies?

A. My mind stopped working after that question. I would say chocolate, but I'm eating candies right now... not the best behavior, huh?

Q. If you were forced to draw only one theme/subject for the rest of your life, what would you choose?

A. Weird anatomy "human" beings =)

Q. Finally, what is your biggest *possible* goal at the moment?

A. Become a millionaire in a next two years ;)
