Creating Master Material in Unreal Engine 4

Creating Master Material in Unreal Engine 4

In this tutorial you will learn how to setup a simple Master Material in Unreal Engine 4.

We will cover subjects such as exposing parameters and tweaking an albedo map with the use of contrast, desaturation, tint and getting full control of the roughness and normal map.

In addition we will work with a tint map to recolor certain areas which is useful to change the look of edge wear or other parts.

After all that, I will show you how to increase and decrease the intensity of the normal map. This can be applied when you want to tweak the detail amount from your tiling textures.

Near the end we will add tileable detailed maps (albedo & normal map) to our texture which will be merged with our base layers to give the illusion of more detail (this increases the level of detail at close range).

At the End I will talk about how to create a simple material with properties by using colors and values. As well as how to switch between the texture and simple material property options.
