These New Zealand native penguins do not form large colonies, preferring individual nesting on a beach. As an endangered species, they are quite rare and hard to find. This particular photoshoot has been made in a wildlife reserve where small shelters have been build to attract penguins, who are coming from the ocean in search for a new home.
