175 photos of Spherical Mineral Boulders

Reference pack by Ref-G, Fotoref.com.

Much like a pearl in a shell this huge boulders grow from a small mud speck under the process of pressure and movement of the ocean's bedrock. It takes 4-5 millions to grow to size of 2-3 metres in diametre. They spend most of their time covered under 10-50 meters of soil and only erosian caused by oceanic waves releases boulders from the shore cliffs. Spherical stones are slowly making their way back in the ground with each passing day. Quite a few of the boulders are cracked and you can have a very close look to the rock composition of fine silt, mud, clay - all cemented by brown/yellow calcite. Tidal waves create uneven surface around the boulders. These cavities are deep enough to slip in and get camera wet as unfortunately has happened. However, the content has survived and presents a great footage for your use.
